10 Tips for Becoming a Record Collector

On this video, I will give you 10 tips that will help you on your journey of becoming a record collector, or growing your collection, regardless of the format you enjoy collecting. Being a record collector is lots of fun and a privilege. Music is one of the great pleasures to be had, and being a record collector means putting music in a special place in your life. With that in mind, there are lots of things you should consider - things to which you should pay attention. There will be a bonus tip at the end of the video.

My name is Paulo Leite, and music is a fundamental part of my life. I started buying music records when I was a kid, and never stopped. As my collection grows, I visit record shops everywhere - and I have lots of fun celebrating the music I love.

Why am I making these videos? Because I hate to see record shops die. Streaming is NOT music. Streaming is just background noise. Buy CDs. Buy vinyl. Buy whatever physical format you like. Buy music. Buy movies. Buy books. Our culture is our biggest asset. It's not free. There is no feeling like sitting down in order to enjoy a music record by your favourite Artist, holding it on your hand, appreciating its artwork, reading liner notes, smelling the paper, putting the record on the player, and pressing the Play button.
