The Project for Awesome (or P4A) is an annual event where we raise awareness of charities that make the world a little bit of a better place and we raise money to redistribute to charities voted on by our community.

History
The very first P4A was organized in 2007 as the Nerdfighter Power Project for Awesome, an event hosted by John and Hank Green—alongside their online community, Nerdfighteria—to take over the most discussed page of YouTube with videos that promoted different charities. The goal was to spotlight organizations that “decrease world suck” and hopefully drive attention and donations their way.

Since then, the Project for Awesome has grown to include a 48-hour livestream hosted by John, Hank, and special guests from across the internet; exclusive perks to help fundraise for charities; video submission guidelines and a voting system so anyone can recommend organizations to receive a P4A grant; and a whole lot of chaotic good.

In 2025, we will be celebrating the 18th annual event!
