SD-1 Fly-In 2022, ep.2 - 467 km Flight to Freistadt (AUT) - Heroic Fix and The Song of Power & Speed

In this episode you'll witness some heroic effort to get D-MTDC airborne again.
It took the better part of the night to retrieve both planes from that little airfield in Schwan-Connheim, diassemble the carburetor of my plane and find suitable solutions to fix all possible causes for the engine troubles of the other day.

All of that effort paid off.
03:58 the engine once again was willing to sing the song of power and speed.
We were able to fly 467 km from Landau all the way to Freistadt in Austria without incident.
At least without incident on D-MTDC.

It was a rather pleasant flight along the Danube river.
Just past Passau Michael seemed to hear some gremlins gnawing at D-MKJK's powerplant, so he asked me to inspect his plane from below.

Anyways, eventually we reached our destination and enjoyed the best Austrian hospitality.

I still have to extend my deepest gratitude to Michael and his friend who not only watched but spent time and money to help, retrieved both planes and also did their best to assist in fixing the engine issue.
