ALPE D HUEZ Engine Failure, Broken Snow Chains, No grip, Cooked Brakes - Motorhome Nightmare!

"21" Switchback climb in HORRIBLE conditions up to ALPE D HUEZ 1860m.

BUT...in the face of adversity we still had a great time in ALPS D HUEZ, what a park up this was and made all the more beautiful by the big dump of snow that made it so difficult getting here!

The Aire is FREE but the only motorhome services in winter is a drain pipe to tip your chemical waste into. So going up full of water and back down full of grey made us heavy! (There is also public toilet)

Alpe d’Huez and the 21 hairpin turns remain the most challenging and well known stage of the Tour de France, it now has the proud position in our memories as the Most Challenging Drive we have ever done. NEVER AGAIN in a snow dump!
