The Smart Station: Portable, Mobile, Modular, and Now Cordless?
In this video, I’m tackling the last tether holding back the Paulk Smart Station — power.

The Smart Station started with the Paulk Total Station, built to meet the needs I had as a builder, remodeler, and finish carpenter — because there was nothing else like it on the market. Over time, I added modularity, mobility, and portability — all packed into one smart system.

The Smart Kart eliminated setup stress by letting me move the bench wherever I need — inches, feet, or even into another room. But I still had one cord tying me down: the power cord. So now, I’m working toward making the system fully cordless — and I need your input.

I haven’t picked a power bank yet. That’s where you — the Smart-Fam — come in. I’m sharing the exact requirements below and asking for your help to choose the best tool for the job. Once selected, I plan to reach out to the top brands and invite them to support what we’re building here at The Smart Woodshop.

Power Bank Requirements:
1. Run the Smart Station (and Smart Woodshop) a full day under load, with power to spare
2. Recharge quickly
3. Accept significant solar input — enough to be viable off-grid or during power outages
4. Be powerful enough to run household essentials when the grid is down
5. Be expandable, allowing more batteries/modules to be added over time
