Tua Pek Kong Temple, 古晉大伯公廟 (also known as Siew San Teng Temple, 壽山亭) is a Chinese temple situated near the waterfront of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, opposite the Chinese History Museum. Believed to had been in existence before 1839, it is the oldest temple in the city.
The procession was to commemorate the temple’s birthday celebration – held once every three years. Participating teams departed the temple at around 4.30pm and proceeded through Main Bazaar, Gambier Street, Market Street (Open Air Market), Khoo Hun Yeang Street, Barrack Road, Pearl Road and Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg.
It also passed through Carpenter Street, Ewe Hai Street, Wayang Street, Jalan Tabuan, Jalan Ban Hock, Jalan Pandungan, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Borneo, and finally returning to the temple. There are 147 participating teams registered for the procession this year.
