상월원각 스님이 1945년에 손수 칡덩굴을 얽어 삼간초암을 짓고 정진 끝에 대도를 성취하여 창건한 구인사. 1966년 현대식 콘크리트조로 지은 이색적인 건물이다. 소백산 국망봉을 중심으로 장엄하게 늘어선 봉우리 가운데 하나인 연화봉 아래에 자리 잡고 있습니다. 주말이면 많은 사람들이 찾는 곳입니다. 동서울터미널과 구인사 입구 터미널 왕복 시외버스가 있습니다.
Guinsa Temple, located in So-baek Mountains, is the headquarters of Korean Buddhist Cheontae Order, of Mahayana Buddhism. Guinsa serves as a main temple for over two million Cheontae believers who are inspired by the teachings of the Great Venerable Sang-woel Woen-gak Dae-jo-sa, the revivalist of Korean Cheontae Order.
The awe-inspiring beauty of Guinsa sits in the Yeon-hwa-ji valley surrounded by the magnificent So-baek Mountains including the Gug-mang-bong peak. “Yeon-hwa-ji” means ‘Lotus Flower area’. The area where Guinsa sits on looks like a lotus flower due to the mountains adjoining, and that is how Yeon-hwa-ji got its name.
