As part of the European Parliament’s Disability Rights Week, the employment and housing committees discuss what inclusive housing should focus on: accessibility, disability rights, vulnerable groups and social inclusion.
The debate will explore how the EU's housing policy can better respond to accessibility requirements, uphold disability rights, and address the needs of vulnerable groups, particularly persons with disabilities and young people.
Speakers will assess barriers such as limited accessibility, affordability challenges, and the slow uptake of inclusive and universal design standards. They will also highlight opportunities to advance equal access to housing, boost independent living and foster social inclusion and participation in the labour market.
