A GNSS receiver can lose its position when GNSS signals are down or obstructed. When an IMU and GNSS receiver are integrated together into a system, the combined system can continue to provide a position and steer the path during GNSS signal outages. This extends the operating area and provides more uptime through faster GNSS signal acquisition.
