The existing SLEX, also known as South Luzon Tollway, stretches from Alabang to Sto. Tomas, Batangas. 

TR4 Extension:

SLEX TR4 will extend the expressway by 66.74 kilometers from Sto. Tomas, Batangas, to Lucena, Quezon, according to smcinfrastructure.com.ph. 

Travel Time Reduction:

This extension is designed to drastically reduce travel time, making it faster to travel between Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon. 

Future Expansion:

TR4 is part of a larger plan that includes the proposed SLEX TR5, which will further extend the expressway to Matnog, Sorsogon, according to smcinfrastructure.com.ph. 

Project Status:

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is the concessionaire for the SLEX project, as stated on its website. The DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) is also involved in the project.

A new northbound interchange in San Pedro City, Laguna, recently opened on August 1, 2025, providing faster access to Metro Manila according to the DPWH.
