I spent the day on Cormorant Island where the Village of Alert Bay is or as the Nation of the Namgis calls it Ya'lis. It's a small island that is a 40 minute ferry ride from Port McNeill on the North end of Vancouver Island. It's a wonderful place to explore for it's rich history, scenery and people. You can experience the U'mista Cultural Centre, see the world tallest totem pole, explore the beaches and get some great coffee. It''s worth the trip if you're on the North Island.
