Kate and Jim join Paul Fullmer of central Idaho to rockhound for green jasper and amazing agate nodules scattered among the sagebrush. The landscape is vast and open, and the rocks are abundant. Agate nodules that formed millions of years ago in the rhyolite have since weathered out and lie scattered on the high desert ground. The jasper ranges from a deep, dark green to a butterscotch swirl brown, in chunks from the size of a pea to the size of a cantaloupe. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and we're hunting for rocks - what could be better!? Come along. :)
