CX500 Scrambler Build - Crash Bars! EP10

CX500 Scrambler Build continues with modifying the crash bars for added strength! The crash bars that came with the bike are intended to fit an earlier engine with the top/rear engine mount extending from the rear cover which this engine does not have. I cut off the existing top tube and then fabricate a new mounting system that ties into the frame for a strong setup. These bars are intended to protect the cylinder heads when the bike falls over.

The original bars are made from 1" inch diameter by 1/8" wall tube so I used the same. The top mount plates are made from 3/16" inch plate and everything is TIG welded together.

The tubing notcher is from Eastwood. Not sure I can say its high quality as it broke the very first time I tried to tighten a piece in the clamp. I had to weld it back and since its been fine but be aware.
