Join me on an unforgettable journey back to Camp Buffalo Bill in Wyoming for two weeks of fly fishing, adventure, and good ol’ shenanigans with my buddies Len and Gator Dave. It all starts with my flight from Tampa to Denver, then a connection to Cody, Wyoming, where the airplanes keep getting smaller the closer I get to camp. Dave picks me up in the legendary Camp Buffalo Bill Dodge Caravan, and we hit the road for another season of fishing and fun.
The first night, Len and I waste no time heading to the North Fork of the Shoshone River, where I hook into what might have been the fish of a lifetime—until my rod snaps in the second section! Luckily, I came prepared with a backup, and Heather saved the day by sending a couple more rods, including some for the camp.
The next morning, we kick off the day with a six-egg omelet masterpiece—because Len jokingly asked the camp chef for an omelet and got a breakfast fit for a king. Fueled up, we explore new waters, landing a beautiful 21” cutthroat trout. As the day unfolds, we realize we might be catching the same fish over and over.
To top it off, we make a trip to Henry’s Fork, running into some fellow anglers from New Orleans who keep us entertained with their bayou stories. It’s only the beginning of this epic Wyoming fly fishing saga—subscribe and stay tuned for Part 2!
