We visited an Akshaya Patra Kitchen in Vadodara, and then went to visit a school there that received food from that kitchen. Akshaya Patra provides nutritious, local cuisine for one meal a day at government schools targeting kids who do not have food security.

It was incredibly satisfying to see the efficiency with which the kitchen was run, and standard of cleanliness maintained, and the direct impact of the food that was prepared there. The kids ate well and even took care of cleaning their plates/utensils. $15/year feeds one kid for one year. Consider donating:
