On this day, February 5th, in 1916, Cabaret Voltaire was launched in Zurich and the dada art movement began. Although short lived, dada has had a massive impact on the art world. In this video, artist Giles Whitehead talks about his introduction to dada, the story behind its conception, development and relevance in 2023.
This video contains clips from the 1967 dada documentary film directed by Greta Deseson and Ghosts Before Breakfast by Hans Richter from 1929.
