Join me on a unique adventure as I explore the enchanting ruins of Van Slyke Castle in the Ramapo Mountain State Forest. This crumbling estate atop a mountain was once a symbol of wealth and grandeur, but is now one with nature. Vultures are now the only inhabitants of this abandoned castle. I also kayaked icy Ramapo Lake and discovered an island with more ruins that most visitors likely don't even know exist. The castle's mountaintop location offers breathtaking views of the region and I was even able to spot the NYC skyline!
