Muskegon County Senior Assistant Prosecutor Heather Bloomquist and Muskegon County Chief Trial Attorney Matt Roberts detail next steps as Shanda Vander Ark, the mother notoriously known for torturing her teen son to death, was denied – in part – an opportunity for a new murder trial.
However, a future court hearing will determine if the convicted killer gets a new trial based on ineffective counsel, Muskegon County Circuit Judge Matthew Kacel ruled.
Vander Ark was before the judge on Friday, July 25, requesting a new trial for the death of her 15-year-old son, Timothy Ferguson.
