Candice Rene King (née Accola; born May 13, 1987)[1] is an American actress, singer, and songwriter. She is best known for her role as Caroline Forbes in The CW supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries (2009–2017) and her recurring role as the same character on the spin-off series The Originals (2018).
King began dating musician Joe King of The Fray after they met at a Super Bowl event in February 2012. Her co-star Nina Dobrev introduced them. They became engaged in May 2013,and married on October 18, 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She became a stepmother to King's two daughters Elise Madison and Ava Julie from his first marriage.
In August 2015, they announced that the were expecting their first child together. On January 15, 2016, King gave birth to a daughter, Florence May. In August 2020, they announced that they were expecting their second child together. On December 1, 2020, King gave birth to a daughter, Josephine June.
