Until the sprawl of the city, the Near Northside was the premier place to be! Many of the city’s political and commercial leaders took up residence in the many large mansions found here.

Sadly, by the mid 1970’s many of the historic homes had been demolished. Fortunately, it was around this time that The Old Northside Historic district was registered and protected.

Walkability is at it’s finest in the Near Northside. Cruise on the Monon Trail north or back downtown. There are top-line restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, and many historic landmarks.
