John’s background is education and he is known as a superintendent that is not afraid to take on every job. If the bus driver is sick you probably find John driving the bus or any other task schools require. Oklahoma is ranked 50th in the nation for education we will discuss John’s plans to improve Oklahoma’s educational ranking. Oklahoma gives a large portion of the state and county budgets to education yet many report Oklahoma is low on national average for per pupils spending. How can Oklahoma give such a large part of their budget to education and remain so low on educational funding. We will get John’s thoughts on private verses public education and his opinion on mandatory testing. Republicans say less government and more local government until it comes to school boards setting standards and salaries for their schools. We get John’s views on education mandates. The Education Department has been in disarray what steps should be taken to improve performance. This should be a very informative discussion.
