Scene 1 (Pedregosa, Ezi):
Cutting: For match cut, I did something where the person 1 and 2 are wearing headphones, it's like they are connecting through each other or yearning for each other. For the Cross Cu,t I did something where person 1 is getting headphones and person 2 is walking to the car and opening it Indicating that they're going somewhere according to the place that they are in.
Transition: Split Screen Transition
What I did for the transition is I did a split screen where person 1 and person 2 are listening to music and they're slowly putting their headphones on to start their story.
scene 2 (Reyes, Samantha):
transitions: The transitions I used were mostly basic cuts. The most notable one is where one of the characters leans back to cover their face, and it transitions to their point of view as they uncover their face to be met with the other character waving at them happily.
cutting: For my scene, I decided to mostly use cutting on action, like when a character turns their head or moves. Although, most of the cuts I used were jump cuts to indicate the fast-forwarding of time in rapid succession to each other. I also used shot reverse shot to indicate the 2 characters having a conversation with each other.
Scene 3 (Pingol, Nixie):
Cutting: For this scene, I used match cuts to convey that the character is in the same place but at different times. I also used Jump Cuts to indicate a small passage of time within the scene. I also used Cutting on Action technique, where I made cuts while the characters were in motion, throughout the scene to maintain the continuity. During a part of my scene where the characters are having a lively conversation, I made use of Shot/Reverse Shot to focus on them individually and maintain continuity. Lastly, I did a B-Roll on when they reached for the water at the same time -- this enhanced the story and added to the romantic aspect.
Transitions: I used Dissolve/Crossfade transitions in between the "past" and "future" scenes to convey to the audience that the scenes wherein the characters are together are merely memories or flashbacks. Additionally, the music stays consistent throughout the short film which can be an example of Sound Bridge transition.
Scene 4 (Lotilla, AJ):
Transitions:
The transitions I used were blur and white fade. I used the blurring transition to signify the flashbacks between the person alone and the person with their lover to show the difference between those two.
Cut:
The cuts I used were mainly match cuts. This is to show the person's feelings of feeling alone when they were once together.
Scene 5 (Pedregosa, Ezi):
Cutting: What I did is do a Kuleshov effect, I put scenes of person 1 and person 2 enjoying their presence with each other and cutting back to person one stalking person 2 with the phone, yearning for her.
Transition: Sliding to the right
What I did here is when person 2 is running towards the location which is the bookstore and I did the sliding to the right when she goes in transitioning to her walking in the bookstore.
