Painting a Porsche Carrera GT

This week I did a painting of the iconic Porsche Carrera Gt, but I had a request to paint it an a very nontraditional color: Purple.
I dont use references for color or lighting- I always make those aspects up from scratch to create a unique look in every piece. I really didn't exactly know how this painting was going to come out, but that's part of the journey of how I work- I don't often know "exactly" how they will come out. They start out super wild and messy and slowly start to shape up as the details get more carefully placed and painted in and I love that. It shows more of a story to each piece rather then a direct reference vs finished painting approach.
