The International 5488 Tractor was produced from 1981-1985 at the IH Farmall Work's in Rock Island, IL. On November 26, 1984 International Harvester sold its agriculture product division to Tenneco the parent company of J.I. Case another tractor manufacturer. The new Case International company shifted tractor production from Rock Island, IL to Racine, WI. On May 14, 1985 the International 5488 was the last tractor produced at the Rock Island Farmall Works.
