How To Create A New Xbox One Account

Tutorial on creating a new account for your Xbox account. In this video, I will show you how to create and set up a new user account for your Xbox One. This account will also be used for Xbox Live.

Steps:

Launch your Xbox.

Click the ‘guide’ button on your controller to bring up the guide menu.

Scroll all the way to the left until you get to the ‘sign in’ tab and then select ‘add new’.

If you would like to use an existing Microsoft account to create your Xbox account you can, just enter your existing email. For this tutorial though I'm going to create a new Microsoft account as well

Now enter your first name, followed by your second name.

Choose a password for your account. It must be at least 8 characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.

Confirm your password.

You’ll now need to enter your date of birth.

Add either an email address or a phone number to use as a backup if you get locked out of your account, I will choose an email.

Enter your alternative email address..

Read the terms and conditions and then Click ‘next’ if you agree.

You’ll now need to enter your date of birth again.

Agree to the privacy statement to continue.

You can now choose your gamertag, your gamertag is like the username used on Xbox live to identify you. Your gamertag can be up to 12 characters long and it can include spaces.

Select ‘continue’ here.

Now click ‘next’.

Here you can choose if there are barriers when signing into your account, you can add a local passkey to your account if you don’t want other people in your home signing in. I'm just going to choose ‘no barriers’.

You can choose to link your controller to this account. If you choose to link the controller then anytime this controller gets turned on it will automatically sign you in.

Finally, choose a color theme for your account.

Your new Xbox live account has now been set up, to view your profile, hit the guide button on your controller, scroll to the left and select my profile.
