A good dessert not only satisfies the tastebuds, but also heals the heart. Although Chen Nien-chu now works as a baker in Taoyuan, he was a reporter and professor before that. After retiring from teaching at Shih Hsin University, he began investing his time in making sweets. As his skills improved, he eventually opened his own store, starting a new career once again.
These colorful macarons are available in all kinds of eye-catching designs. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, their sweet taste would lighten anyone’s mood.

My teacher’s macarons aren’t too sweet.

The canelé is really delicious. Usually when we buy this from other stores, its outer layer isn’t that crispy. Here it’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Freshly baked canelé and crème-brûlée fill the table, all prepared to perfection. Yet their maker hasn’t been baking for long. He previously worked as a reporter and professor before beginning his third career.
After leaving the media world and retiring from teaching, Chen Nien-chu began devoting his time to making desserts, eventually opening his own store. Any successful business needs distinctive products, and Chen’s signature macarons have their own secret recipe.

Our family used to have macarons every day when we came home. After I retired from teaching, I started making the dessert that my sisters used to make for my family and friends.

I’ve followed my teacher closely through every step, from when he began making them to now. SoI’ve tried many different kinds of macaron.
Driven by his passion for desserts, Chen takes every step of the baking process very seriously, including the ingredients. He hopes to give every customer a taste of happiness.

It’s my wish to keep promoting this dessert so that even more people can enjoy it. For me, macarons are a part of life.
Desserts satisfy cravings and lighten moods. For Chen, baking is a way to find his own joy and share it with others.
