Abdominal crunches is a great core exercise. For this exercise, hold your hands at your chest. From this position, push your shoulders upwards to a position that is comfortable for you, then lower yourself down, doing this exercise in a slow and controlled motion. You should feel your core muscles engage during the movement, and you don’t need to go upwards very far for this exercise. You can do 3 sets of 5 to 15 repetitions starting out and this exercise targets your upper abdominals. And if you have lower back issues, you should avoid this exercise.
