CFD Modeling of Wind in Sarajevo’s City Center

This video presents a CFD simulation of wind distribution at pedestrian level (1.5 m above the ground) in the central part of Sarajevo, using a hybrid RANS-LES turbulence model. Wind plays a crucial role in urban air quality, as areas with low wind speeds tend to accumulate pollutants, leading to poorer air conditions. By analyzing wind flow patterns, this simulation highlights regions with restricted ventilation, helping urban planners and policymakers optimize city design to improve natural ventilation and mitigate air pollution. Such studies are essential for creating healthier and more sustainable urban environments.
