💡 Did you know?

The Millennium Cross (Milenijski Križ) seen on the hill above Mostar was built in 2000 and stands over 30 meters tall — it overlooks the city together with the Church of the Holy Trinity (Crkva Svete Trojice) visible on the left.

The small town of Buna, through which we pass, lies near the spring of the Buna River, one of the strongest karst springs in Europe, famous for its turquoise water and the historic Blagaj Tekija monastery nearby.

Žitomislići, mentioned in Ottoman records as early as the 16th century, is home to a restored Serbian Orthodox monastery originally built in 1563 and destroyed during the 1990s war — today it stands again as a symbol of reconciliation and cultural memory.

The Hercegovina Bridge (Most Hercegovina) seen near Počitelj is part of the A1 motorway, the main north-south highway connecting Sarajevo to the Adriatic Sea.

And finally, Počitelj, our destination, is one of Bosnia’s most photogenic historic villages — a preserved Ottoman fortress settlement dating back to the 15th century, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list.
