Here, There, and Everywhere- The Beatles (Guitar Cover)

I’m playing my Epiphone Casino into my Fender Bassman amp- the same exact setup Paul used on this song! Mine is a 1965 blackface Bassman, Paul’s was a 1961 blonde Bassman. These are similar amps, although the blonde Fenders are less clean and more mid humped

Paul played the rhythm guitar on his Casino without a pick, just using his fingers. George overdubbed lead guitars on the bridges and at the end, where he used a volume pedal to get a swell/horn like effect

There’s a lot of speculation as to what guitar(s) George used to record these parts. Listening to the song closely, you’ll hear that there are guitars panned on either side in stereo. Not only did he double track it in stereo, but each side of the stereo image contains two guitars. Totaling to four George guitars!

He could’ve used his Casino, Stratocaster or Gibson SG or any combination of them; these were his guitars used during Revolver. I tested it out with each of them as well as a Rickenbacker 360/12 12-string, as this chromatic line played on the b-string of a 12 string guitar sounds doubled to begin with

I confirmed it was not a Rickenbacker 12 because one guitar (on each side of stereo) plays an open G note right before the main line. If it had been a 12 string, the open G string would’ve had an octave G above it. And it does not have an octave on the recording.

I chose to record all four guitar parts with my Sonic Blue Stratocaster because it just sounded right. And I imagine George recorded these lines quickly because they are a little sloppy, so he probably didn’t change guitars during the session

I’m also playing the Stratocaster into my 1965 Fender Bassman with a Strymon Deco pedal, which simulates the ADT/Flanging sound heard on the record. The two volume pedal guitars at the end are only heard on the right side of the stereo image. There are also little reverse ‘fwip’ guitars after the bridge that I recreated by reversing the audio and video
