I Spent A Day With An MLS Next Coach: Luis Swisher

This is the story of Luis Swisher.

Initially born from Guatemala, Luis quickly fell in love with the beautiful game. Growing up, he was inspired by his Uncle's career and looked up to Romario, Ronaldo, and later Cafu.

At 18 years old, he made his pro debut in their first division and later got to play in some world cup and olympic qualifying matches.

In the mid 2000's, he became the first Guatemalan to transfer to a European club.

After his retirement from the professional world, he began working with FIFpro to improve the landscape for the next generation of footballers.

He continue pursing his education and graduated from ESI with his Master's in Business Administration.

Then, he began his path into coaching and started working with DC United, NY Red Bulls, FC Boulder, and St Louis SC.

Today, Luis is an experienced coach rising for St. Louis SC in the MLS Next program.
