Maria, Roma and I are going to Majorda with our friends, Sophia and Gareth to The Tinto Bar. Seems a nice, cool and fairly new place here in South Goa

Loving the setting of The Tinto, with view of green fields all around. Because it is open on three sides, it was also quite cool with the cross ventilation

We tried the alsande hummus with chorizo (Rs 400), Homemade Bancal chargrilled pork chops (Rs 400), crispy bhindi (Rs 200), calamari crispo (Rs 350), fish wrapped in banana leaf (Rs 400), chicken tawa fry cafreal (Rs 250), Dodol mousse (Rs 200) and Banana toffee mini samosa (Rs 250)

These dishes at The Tinto are very interesting takes on traditional Goan food

All of us really liked the alsande hummus with chorizo. The bhindi was actually nice. The batter is really crisp.

The chicken tawa fry cafreal (Rs 250) was okay

The calamari crispo was so good, we ordered one more plate

The Homemade Bancal chargrilled pork chops (Rs 400), served on a bed of alsande hummus, got a big thumbs up from Roma and Sophia

The banana samosa was so crispy

We are all really liking the food at The Tinto. Goan, but different

We saw lots of thalis coming out of the kitchen. We didn’t try a thali so don’t know how it is at The Tinto. Will have to go back to try sometime

The bill minus the alcohol and staff contribution was around Rs 4,200. Not cheap, yet the place is quite full

The food at The Tinto was so different from what we’re used to having, yet was so Goan, authentically Goan in its flavours. They have really taken a lot of care with their dishes. Like that batter fry squid you get in so many places, but over here the batter was so different and they had sprinkled chilli on it. It was lovely

The desserts were on another level. That Dodol mousse. Wow, I’ve never had something like that. And that banana toffee samosa. Must try

I’ll definitely come back to The Tinto here in Majorda
