No more vacuum leaks! 🛠️🚗💨
The one-liter VW Polo 86c has a major design flaw: the carburetor flange is made of rubber that gets soft when hot, causing the throttle cable to pull the carb and split the mounting [00:41]. Today, I'm showing you a simple, custom-made bracket that braces the carb to the inlet manifold, stopping that movement for good.
In this video:
The Problem: Explaining why the carb flange splits so often (hint: it's the throttle cable pull!) [00:53].
The Discovery: Finding two mysterious bolt holes—one on the flange and one on the manifold—that are perfectly lined up [01:20].
The Build: Fabricating a custom metal bracket, drilling it to size, and giving it a lick of primer to keep it looking tidy [03:31].
The Install: Bolting it all together and testing the rigidity. That carb is now rock solid! [04:41].
The Theory: Wondering if this part actually existed in the past or if it’s a brand-new ADHD Customs invention [05:15].
If you're running a Mk2 Polo, this is a must-do mod to keep your engine running smooth without those annoying air leaks.
