Follow Yokoda Eiichi, an experienced 'tategu' (architectural fitting) joiner, as he pursued the Japanese craft of 'kumiko'.
The intricate assembly of 'kumiko' involves fitting together vertical, horizontal, and diagonal slivers of shaved wood. These interlocking pieces support one another without the use of nails, forming elegant patterns.
