After Mine and Nahoc's recent tas of this star, nahoc presented the tas to Eru, ToT and Nothing. Eru came up with the brilliant alteration to the route which was then carried out by all three of them. Congratulations to everyone!!!!!
The description of the original TAS project:
My comments: I started this project around December 2010, with motives of a route like this one. It has been quite a long time since I have done any tasing, my life has gotten extremely busy lately, and all I've had is this big slowly progressing project. In January 2011, I began some drafts in order to find the quickest and most lag-free route for the swimming part. A very special thanks and acknowledgement goes to SonicPacker and SilentSlayers for their amazing advice, encouragement and support. / silentslayershttp: I also made Nahoc10 aware of this project at this time. Eventually, after following many leads and advice from SS and SP, including non-tases by elmo and neurkan, I composed the swimming component of the run. This beat rikku's swimming part by more than 11 seconds. At this stage, I took a break from the project, I knew that the next part of the run would require a thoughtful modern route. A HSWK route, of course, was the whole point to revising this star. When I got time, I occasionally did some tests for possible HSWKs and ways to navigate around the room. Fast. About 4 months after I initiated this break in the project, I approached Nahoc10. Together we discussed possibilities, until Nahoc ingeniously devised the route you see in this video. After composing a draft we explored ways to minimise lag and make this route as efficient as possible. Nahoc did the TASing for this part. Nahoc then optimised this part to the best of his ability, allowing us to create a final product. As it was Nahoc's brilliant tasing skills and planning that allowed us to employ this route, he deserves far more credit. Nahoc, you are AMAZING. People like Nahoc, SilentSlayers and SonicPacker are the reason these things happen, and they all deserve a great deal of respect. Re records: Ok, I'm going to admit I can't be certain of the number of rerecords in total that were used, as the swimming component was re done four times. However, from what I can deduce by looking at those past tases and adding the re recs, this product sits on about 32 000 re records. Of course, it is very possible that this can be improved, and is likely to be by the japanese 120 star team, but I believe this is a good base to work with. For anyone who was wondering, the previous world record, By Rikku, was 2'04"63 This saves 20.31 seconds over that run. However, rikku's run was in many ways the ancestor of this run, hence rikku is much accredited. I'm going to take a break from SM64 tasing now. This could last quite some time. Jack and I will still upload videos for other games as much as possible. When my mind is fresh, motivated and inspired, I will begin some SM64 TAS projects. I hope I am fortunate enough to be able to co-create with Nahoc again. If you would like to read more about why SM64 tasing has dimmed down lately, I suggest you read this thread, particularly my post, but also everyone else's.http://sm64.org/forum/viewtopic.php?i... Nahoc's comments: I hate DDD. XD, Cohan says: *Naaah *I'll just write.. nothing! *:P *You said everything I wanted
