Each injector is precision‑tested and stamped with a unique calibration code (often a 7‑ to 20‑character alphanumeric string). After installing either new or cleaned injectors, the engine control unit (ECU) must be updated to recognise them properly. Without this, you’ll likely see rough idle, misfires, poor mileage, and error codes .
2. Step‑by‑Step Procedure
Connect the diagnostic tool via OBD port.
Read existing injector codes from the ECU.
Record the calibration code stamped on each injector.
Select injector coding on your tool (e.g., “Injector Coding – Hyundai”).
Enter calibration codes into the ECU corresponding to each cylinder.
Complete the write, then verify by reading back the codes.
Start engine and check for smooth idle.
