Shop Made DIY Sissy Bar Top Box Luggage Rack for Harley Davidson Sportster

The last thing I need to build in the ten part "Touring Sportster" build is the sissy bar. One that I can strap my tent, luggage, tail pack, and whatnot onto. This used the last of the $60 in metal I'd bought for the whole deal (parcel tray, saddle bag supports, and sissy bar) plus some hobby soldering OxyMap torch used to bend the steel.

There were some surprise successes and a few disappointments but this will serve my needs well. How would you have done it differently?

The motorcycle in this video is a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster Roadster XL1200R, fairly stock except for suspension.
