Mikki – an eurodance project and alias by the legend Roma Mačiulytė – released her first and only album in 1995, probably recorded entirely in late 1994, titled Diskoteka. I think we can perfectly imagine what we're about to listen to with just that title name!

Let's talk a bit about Roma Mačiulytė's career as a singer. Roma Mačiulytė is one of the artists that I look up to the most, I truly love her and her work. She started her singing career in the 80s Lithuanian SSR when she sang in the groups Nerija and Versmė. She was also known for doing the backing vocals for legend Janina Miščiukaitė's iconic album Estradinės dainos. But the pinnacle of her career was in 1993 when she released her first solo album, Šventė.

Then, in 1993/94, she along with Rimantas Tamašauskas brought into being an amazing disco polka project called ROMA ir grupė VĖL
This band established released their first album, which is self titled, in 1994, with a more pop techno-ish style. After the first album, they released a Russian version of their first album, also self titled, now going by the name of Рома & С⁰, both of which will be eventually on the channel some day.

One year later, they'd surprise us with their second – technically third – album, Pinigai, pinigai, which turned out to be more folkish than the first two albums.
After this album, they'd only release one more album, another self titled one, ROMA ir grupė VĖL 3, in 1997. I didn't have the chance to listen to the album yet, but I'm guessing it's some sort of pop dance mixed with polka/popuri —

However, just before the release of that album, Roma Mačiulytė, in 1995, created the project Mikki, a name she chose as her alias for what I consider is the best pop-techno album I've ever listened to, Diskoteka. It is definitely my favourite rip purchase I've ever done, I don't think any other pop-techno album can top it, but what can you expect by that title name! It's beyond legendary.

What not so many people know is that the name of the dance project Mikki was changed into Dance Club for the Meilės sūkury '6 compilation album, and Roma Mačiulytė didn't even know about this – it seems the people who release those love-themed comps didn't even care to ask or even let her know they changed the name.

I love this album so much, it deserves so much recognition. This album wasn't even on Discogs until I had to submit it, and that's sad! I love Roma Mačiulytė so much.
