After much away from the battle scene, I decided to step back in—this time for a 2v2 with my friend Bgirl Mona Lisa who hasn’t entered a battle in 6 years! We’re both in our 40’s, and we were the only Bgirl Crew as well as the oldest breakers in this competition. I’m sharing my pre-battle reflections at CYPHER ROTUNDA in Minneapolis, MN, and the actual battle itself. This was more than just competing—it was about courage, growth, and reconnecting with the raw energy of battling.
