First Impressions of a Random Thai Town - Lopburi

Join me as I arrive in Lopburi, a random Thai town I chose on a whim after leaving Ayutthaya. Known as the "Monkey City," Lopburi intrigued me with its unique nickname and the promise of something different. With a direct train ride that cost just 20 baht, this charming and lesser-known spot seemed perfect for a new adventure.

In this vlog, I share my first impressions of Lopburi, from arriving at the train station to finding a budget-friendly guesthouse for 450 baht a night. With no prior research, I hit the streets to explore what this small town has to offer. Lopburi surprised me with its blend of history, culture, and even a full English breakfast at the local guesthouse restaurant (a rare treat in these parts!).

While searching for the town’s famous monkeys, I stumble across historic temples, a palace, and even some unexpected French tourists. With its walkable streets and unique charm, Lopburi feels like a breath of fresh air compared to Thailand’s more popular tourist destinations.

This video captures my unscripted journey, raw impressions, and the quirks of discovering a new place without a plan. Whether it’s spotting ancient ruins or tracking down the mischievous monkeys the town is famous for, Lopburi has already left an impression—and tomorrow’s vlog will dive even deeper.
