Our SCM team expertly navigates complex global and local logistics challenges to keep our operations seamless. From managing critical items like bone marrow transplant logistics to overseeing supply for outlying areas and even our aircraft, the SCM team of 64 encompasses several critical functions, each performed by highly skilled professionals.
Here’s some additional stats that underscore the Supply Chain team’s scale and importance to our facility:
Purchasing manages over 2,000 purchase orders daily and tracks 70-100 backorders—all with just 9 team members.
Shipping and Receiving covers 2 million square feet daily, delivering between 400-500 packages every day.
Distribution ensures that 4,500 items reach patient care and procedural areas every day, including operating rooms, Omnicell units and special procedure rooms.
Combined, the shipping/receiving and distribution functions handle almost 100,000,000 individual items each year.
Central Supply is available 24/7/365, responding to over 275 requests every 24 hours.
The Database Administration (DBA) team oversees 2.5 million individual items at any given time in our materials management information system, supporting inventory control, contract management and accurate patient billing.
Supply chain also provides postal service for all departments through mail pickup, postal runs and deliveries to 37 offices in the Professional Buildings.
