I wanted a clean look for my pond—no big, unsightly pipes going over the liner. So, I needed bulkhead fittings. And I needed big ones! A 3" bulkhead fitting was $50-70 on Amazon and even more from the local supply house, so I created my own instead. It's not as fancy as the expensive ones, but it works just as well.
