This video continues with the idea of constructing sinusoidal functions when given key information about the curve, such as a point intersecting the midline, a maximum point, or a minimum point. An example problem from the Khan Academy exercise linked below is analyzed.
One strategy to approach these construction problems is to use a coordinate plane and plot the given points. From there, use the general sinusoidal equation to determine the amplitude, period, and any vertical or horizontal shifting. Also, determine whether the parent function for sine or cosine should be used based off of the y value of the function when x = 0.
