‘Call me Hindu’ Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan at Hindu Conclave

While addressing a Hindu conclave in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on January 28, State Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on January 28 recalled the words of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, founder of Aligarh Muslim University who once urged to be called ‘Hindu’, he further cited Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and added that Hindu is not a religious term, it’s a geographical term.
While addressing he said, “Sir Syed Ahmed Khan once said that I do not think Hindu is a religious term, it is a geographical term. Anyone who is born in India eats food grown in India or drinks water from Indian rivers deserves to be called a Hindu.”
