Old Man Winter arrived in South Jersey, leaving a beautiful half foot of snow across the region just in time for the Christmas festivities to ramp up. At the Woodstown Central Railroad, ex-U.S. Army 0-6-0 #9 was fired up to pull Santa Claus Special excursions northbound out of South Woodstown Station to Swedesboro, which meant it was a perfect time to capture winter scenes along the Salem Branch that continue to be come more rare as the years go on. Unfortunately, due to poor quality coal, 9 was unable to complete a full day of excursions, but still put on a marvelous showing through the snowy hills of South Jersey while it could.
