Given that Flanagan South is nearing capacity, Enbridge and Energy Transfer are teaming up to explore alternative routes that would funnel more crude oil barrels to their Gulf Coast bound pipelines. There are potentially two route options: Option 1 is to use Enbridge's Mainline, Lakehead system, and Southern Access (Illinois) Extension JV (co-owned by MPLX) to deliver to the ETCOP JV (owned by Enbridge, Energy Transfer, Phillips 66, and MPLX) at Patoka. A second option is to use Enbridge's Express Pipeline and Platte Pipeline to get to Wood River, and a new build (Southern Illinois Connector) to move between Wood River and Patoka.
