Best BANGALORE Street Food Tour (Part 1) | Ghee Podi Idli, Biryani, Dosa, Mysore Pak & More
Epic Bengaluru Food Trail: Idli, Biryani, Jackfruit & MysorePak Delights!
In this epic Bengaluru food vlog, join me on a delicious journey through some of the city’s most famous food spots, hidden gems, and iconic street eats!
Stop 1: Rameshwaram Cafe, Indiranagar
📍 Timings: 7 AM – 10:30 PM (Open all days)
Started the day with their legendary Ghee Podi Idli — soft, spongy idlis dunked generously in ghee and coated with aromatic podi (spiced lentil powder). The taste? Next level! Nutty, spicy, and absolutely comforting.
Stop 2: Taaza Thindi, Jayanagar
📍 Timings: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM & 5 PM – 9:30 PM (Open all days)
This iconic budget-friendly eatery serves classic Dosa, Idli, and Vada. Everything was super fresh — crispy dosa, melt-in-the-mouth idlis, and crunchy vadas. Best part? The prices are unbelievably low without compromising on quality.
Street Jackfruit Stall (Opposite Taaza Thindi)
Saw a man selling gigantic jackfruits. Tried a piece — surprisingly sweet, slightly chewy, with a taste reminding me of mango yet distinctly unique.
Stop 3: Shivaji Military Hotel, Jayanagar
📍 Timings: 7 AM – 4 PM (Closed on Sundays)
Tried their famous Donne Biryani and Chicken Legs. The biryani had perfectly cooked seeraga samba rice infused with fresh mint, coriander, and a subtle spice blend — rich and aromatic. Chicken legs were juicy, spicy, and deeply flavorful. Truly top class!
Stop 4: Dinner at Lokesh’s House
The reason we came to Bengaluru was to attend Lokesh’s wedding, and he treated us to delicious homemade Mutton Biryani. Even though I was full, I couldn’t say no — and it was worth it! Tender mutton pieces cooked to perfection, lightly spiced yet rich.
Stop 5: Local Market & Sweet Shopping
Ended the night exploring a local Bengaluru market. Picked up MysorePak made with pure desi ghee — crumbly, melt-in-the-mouth, and rich in flavor. Also, for the first time, tasted Ice Apple (Taadi ka Phal) — super refreshing and watery, perfect for Bengaluru’s weather.
Final Stop: Meghana Foods, Residency Road
📍 Timings: 12 PM – 3:30 PM & 7 PM – 11 PM (Open all days)
Closed the day with their special Andhra Biryani and Green Chilli Chicken. The biryani was spicy and fragrant, while the green chilli chicken packed a punch — spicy, tangy, and addictive.
✨ Overall Taste & Experience:
Bengaluru’s food scene has something for everyone — from budget-friendly breakfasts to legendary military hotels, authentic sweets, and fiery Andhra cuisine. Everything we tried had its own unique flavor and story.
If you love exploring food, don’t miss these places!
