The Beauty of Destruction: a U20 Analysis

The U20 match is the magnificent payoff to the entire narrative of Blue Lock to this point. The match between the Blue Lock 11 and the Japanese Under-20 team serves as a touchstone to prove the validity of Jinpachi Ego's philosophy of egoism. Through the stories of Oliver Aiku, Shuto Sendou and Sae Itoshi, we are shown the failings of Japanese football first-hand. More than that, the match between the U20 team serves as a battle of ideas to determine the future of Japanese football and who will become its hero. The central conflicts here arethe opposition between Blue Lock's philosophy of destruction - from destroying the opponents to destroying your allies to destroying yourself - and the U20 team's philosophy of creation, spearheaded by Blue Lock's number 2 Ryusei Shidou, as well as an juxtaposition between beauty and ugliness in Sae vs Rin - beautiful vs hideous destruction.
