We hit the trails again! This time it was Bass Lake 4x4 Adventures. In this series, we review this trail extensively and of course showcase the Jeep Wrangler's new look.

Less than 100kms from Pretoria and Johannesburg is Bass Lake Adventures. It is situated in the quaint Henley On Klip. Bass Lake consists of a 10-hectare body of spring-fed water.

The 4x4 trail consists of natural obstacles with stunning views of the lake and Klip River. The trail is about 14km in length and can take up to 3 hours to complete. We would recommend an entire day to fully enjoy the natural surroundings and tackle the trail at an easy pace.

Entry fee is R150 per adult and an additional R50 for the vehicle.

This trail has the perfect blend of scenery, natural obstacles and adrenalin-infused obstacles. It also helps when your adventure companion is the most trustworthy spotter!

Obstacles are graded between 3 and 5 with difficulty contingent on the vehicle's specific setup and weather conditions before and on the day of a trail run.

The 4x4 trail mainly consists of naturally steep and rutted ascents and descents perfect to flex out a rig and test traction. We disconnected the sway bar end links and did not have the oft seen wheel lift on some of the most challenging obstacles.
