The Secret Origins of the Yatagarasu || SMTheology

In the twentieth year of the Taisho era, far from the urban center of the Japanese Imperial Capital, there lies a nameless shrine deep within the Shinoda forest. Here, is a point of contact for a mysterious organization which is one of the oldest secret societies in the entire world. For well over a thousand years, they have controlled the deployment of Devil Summoners all across the nation, including the renowned Kuzunoha clan. This is the Yatagarasu. But, despite their importance to the setting of Raidou, and Devil Summoner broadly, very little about them is explained in the games. So today, we’re going to explore what inspired the Yatagarasu's depiction in the franchise, and what the group is actually meant to represent.
